Reality TV and weather resources in cyberspace

Many reality TV shows are coming down to the wire. If you’ve missed out and just have to know who’s still hanging on and who’s so last week go to www.popbytes.com for coverage of the Apprentice and others. Pink is the New Blog or at least that’s the name of the blog at www.trent.blogspot.com. This Detroit blogger has a Hollywood focus and tons of photos with pink scribbles to match.

May 9th marked the debut of Arrianna’s blog empire. www.thehuffingtonpost.com is her latest venture into cyberspace. It’s equal parts breaking news and unending supply of op-ed pieces. Let’s see if she makes it into the latest blog round up at www.bloggingaboutblogs.blogspot.com. A more interesting question is will she keep her diverse stable of blogger-columnists? Time will tell.

Spring also means baseball is now in full swing. Keep informed with www.baseballnews.blogspot.com and check out their links to team blogs. Even the Tigers have a few bloggers. www.all-baseball.com is a collection of baseball bloggers each with their own spin on America’s past time.

Huddling around the electronic glow of televised sports can make you hungry. Hoosiers are about to be known for more than basketball with a central Indiana food blogger. Visit www.scotthutcheson.typepad.com to try out his recipes for Jack Daniel’s brined pork chops and horseradish mashed potatoes. I know what’s on my grocery list now. www.amateurgourmet.com has more off the beaten track ingredients. Not surprising since it is a New York based food blog. You can read in the March 21, 2005 archives about his friend’s culinary trip through Iceland. According to this New Yorker whale meat tastes surprisingly like steak. At least he didn’t say it tastes like chicken.

April showers bring May flowers, but who can you depend on to tell you what kind of showers will happen? The answer is a weather blog of course. You can find it at www.theindychannel.com/weather Kevin Gregory is the chief meteorologist for rTV6 in Indy. Maybe you’ve always wanted to be one of those storm chasers featured on the Weather Channel. I don’t know if you’ll see air time but you can become the guy or gal on the ground at www.theweathermatrix.net. Storm Stories watch out!

A place that you really don’t want to see a storm is on a golf course. Another sign of spring is when the golfers come out to play. I am not the most accomplished golfer, to say I’m an amateur is rather gracious. There is hope and consolation in the blogosphere. For rankings and golf news go to www.mjongolf.com. He covers both men’s and ladies golf and throws in golf related humor each Wednesday. One of my favorites right now is www.grouchygolf.blogspot.com. He captures the essence of the love/hate relationship many golfers have with the game.

Next up blogs and barbecues.
