Star Wars Episode III trailer unleashed

Millions of geeks get set-up to have their hopes dashed again.

Fans got a glimpse of the upcoming finale to George Lucas’ Star Wars prequel trilogy when the trailer to Revenge of the Sith made its internet and television debut Thursday.

If the previous two prequels are anything to go by, Revenge of the Sith doesn’t have a hope in hell of being any good. But like the trailers for The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, the trailer for the third installment looks great. A montage of images from earlier films and quick shots of the new movie, the clip is underscored by Darth Vader’s distinctive breathing.

One fan, who is old enough to know better, described the trailer as being “really cool.”

The movie itself won’t be released until May 19, 2005.
