First solo show by IAP winner Julia Bridges at Northside Gallery
By Eddie Torres
Fort Wayne Reader
Northside Galleries is honored to present the works of the 2016-2017 Individual Artist Program Grant award-winner, Julia Bridges, in her first solo show. The exhibition features the complete body of work produced by Bridges in accordance with project parameters of the Individual Artist Program, designed to promote the growth of her art and her faith. The project is made possible by the Indiana Arts Commission through the Indiana State Legislature and in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Arts. Bridges’ work, inspired by “the heart in moments of devotion,” expresses her love of Art and God through the use of vibrant colors and textures.
As Habitat for Humanity homeowners, Bridges and her husband, Adam, are grateful for their family’s good fortune. In an effort to share that good fortune with others, she has pledged a portion of the proceeds of her exhibition sales to support the Fort Wayne affiliate of Habitat for Humanity and their mission of “Seeking to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.” Motivated by God’s love and the power of art to engage, inspire and uplift, Julia will offer each new Habitat for Humanity homeowner the opportunity to select one piece from the collection for their new homes.
