Orchard Gallery features work by artists Sue Davis and Steve Vachon

Sue Davis has created many new acrylic and mixed media paintings for this exhibit. Inspired by colors ,shapes, textures and rhythms of natural forms, Davis is interested in exploring new techniques and finding her own symbols and style to give visual life to her feelings about her subjects.

Steve Vachon creates hand built sculptural vessels and wheel thrown jars. These pieces are raku fired, which produces dramatic and distinctive results. The rapid cooling that takes place with raku firing causes the glazes to crackle. The smoke produced by the firing process darkens the unglazed clay areas. This creates a wonderful contrast between glazed and smoked areas. There will be some collaborative pieces by this dynamic couple, as well...including boxes, bird jars and tiles.
