Downtown Development, 1969

Another one from the archives. With last month’s news that the residential/retail phase of the Harrison project was moving forward, we thought it would be interesting to revisit a different sort of downtown development project 40+ years ago. It’s also a bleak and chilly-looking picture, which suits the season. Anyway, this wasteland of dirt and snow would eventually become the City-County building, and those steel girders in the background would grow up to become the Fort Wayne National Bank building. |
