So, for my last article of the year, I thought I’d give you the favorite bits of 2009 from some of the other people around town who are involved in the scene. So here they are:

Favorite Local Show: BLK JKS at The Rail (occurred here, right? non-local artist? if it has to be local artist then I pick the Thunderhawk VI release show with New Pale Swimmers and Wooden Satellites. I played both shows, so I'm biased.)
Favorite National Show: Bon Iver final homecoming show in Milwaukee (with backstage tix and afterparty passes)
Favorite Musical Moment of '09: having my longtime songwriting hero, David Bazan, play two shows in my hometown in the same day.

Favorite musical moment of 2009: Fat Ass and Destination Detox reunion show and anytime I got to see Daisycutter in the past year.

Favorite musical moment of 2009: The Happiness Project at Shuba's and the Finale at the Metavari show.

Bjart Helms: The End Times Spasm Band
Favorite local album: I have to say The B-Sharps' Cherchez Kahuna because we waited so many damn years for it.
Favorite national album: Neko Case — Middle Cyclone
Favorite local show: Tie between two double reunions: Fat Ass /
Destination Detox and Graves of the Endless Fall / All Nite Skate.
Favorite national show: They Might Be Giants at the Vogue.
Favorite musical moment of 2009: Two Man Gentleman Band's surprise appearance at the Rail, and getting to jam to "Two Bass Blues" after hours with them and Christabel & the Jons.

Stephen Bryden: Sankofa
Favorite local album: Left Lane Cruiser's All You Can Eat
Favorite national album: the one with autotune in it
Favorite local show: Little Brother Radio
Favorite national show: David Bazan at OLG
Favorite musical moment of 2009: Watching Black Dynamite at Cinema Tech and wanting to rap over the half of the movie that didn't have me laughing. The scoring was pitch-perfect.
